The heart of Haidhausen: Beautiful Wiener Platz Market
Wiener Platz And It's Historical Market
The Wiener Market is one of the four permanent food and flower markets in Munich. It takes place at Wiener Platz in the Haidhausen district. The square was named in 1891 after the Austrian city of Vienna. This name was chosen because the Inner Wiener Straße that runs along here marked the start of the road leading to Vienna.

The market at Wiener Platz in the heart of Haidhausen is a hotspot for those who appreciate fine taste. Here, you can stock up on all the essential daily groceries, but even the most discerning palate will find something to enjoy. On 350 square meters, delicatessen shops and specialty stores are lined up.
This traditional pub, “Hofbräukeller,” located right on Wiener Platz, boasts one of Munich’s largest beer gardens. The Hofbräukeller is owned by the Steinberg family, who also manage the Hofbräu tent at Oktoberfest. It is renowned—besides its delicious beer—for its expansive, shady beer garden. The restaurant is located directly adjacent to the Maximiliansanlagen recreational area along the Isar River and is one of the most beautiful in the city.
