Our Story
MunichByFood.com was officially founded in November 2024 by Sepp Sohr, but the story began a few years earlier, in January 2021, when Sepp launched his first project, “Sepp, The Bavarian Guide.” What started as a small platform to help travelers book memorable tours and authentic experiences in Bavaria quickly grew into something bigger. Guests kept asking the same question: Where should we eat? What should we try? How can we taste the real Bavaria?
Sepp had always been passionate about Bavarian food culture—from early-morning Weisswurst breakfasts and lively beer hall evenings to family recipes passed down through generations. He realized that while many travelers came to Munich for castles and mountains, what they remembered most were the flavors, the people, and the shared meals. That insight led to the creation of MunichByFood: a platform dedicated entirely to helping visitors discover the true taste of Munich and Bavaria.
Today, MunichByFood connects travelers with food tours, cooking classes, restaurant recommendations, and curated culinary experiences, making it easy to explore Bavarian cuisine without language barriers or complicated planning. The mission is simple but heartfelt—to bring Bavaria’s food and drink traditions closer to people from around the world, while supporting local chefs, family-run restaurants, and small businesses that keep these traditions alive.
